Howdy! Welcome to my online portfolio and resume. Here are some highlights from my career:
For most of the last ten+ years I've focused on designing user interfaces for enterprise web applications. I am currently the lead user experience designer at Vignette/Open Text for Web Experience Management 8.x, an industrial strength content management web application. During the dot-com boom (and bust) I was the senior UI designer/architect for Allegis, a web startup, and oversaw seven major releases of their partner relationship management web application. In the mid 90's I worked at Netscape on user interfaces for their server products, and one of the first web page editors. I have a pre-internet career also; I was fortunate to work at Apple on HyperCard, serve as a lead interaction designer for an Apple operating system, and design an educational-multimedia product published by Prentice-Hall. Skills
Interaction Design
- Develop web application concept, structure, and navigation
- Create wire frames, and HTML mockups and prototypes
- Develop detailed requirements, and use cases from business requirements
- Write requirements, functional specifications, and design style guides
- Create diagrams and flowcharts
- Support and run usability studies
Visual design
- Create high-fidelity mockups, design elements and final assets for web sites and applications
- Experienced in photography, studio lighting, digital image processing, and color management
Technical Experience
- Well versed in XHTML, CSS, web standards
- Good familiarity with Ajax, Javascript, data modeling, source code control systems, and web accessibility.
- Experienced with modern design software: Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver (with templates), MS Office
